ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Joshua Shores is a Marine Infantry combat veteran, Purple Heart recipient, entrepreneur, and retired firefighter. He served four and a half years in the United States Marine Corps with combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, including service with the first Marine Special Operations Company Bravo. His time in uniform, marked by intense combat and the deep bonds of brotherhood, shaped the foundation for his debut memoir, Counting on Death.

After his military service, Joshua graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He went on to serve as a career firefighter before launching his own business, continuing his lifelong commitment to leadership and service.

Now residing in the Midwest with his family, Joshua has turned to writing to share the raw, unfiltered truths of war and the personal battles that follow. Through speaking engagements and storytelling, he aims to help other veterans, young warfighters, and civilians alike better understand the true cost of combat and the lifelong journey of finding peace after war.

Counting on Death is his first published work.
